There’s almost always something changing at Disney World hotels!
Last year, Disney announced that updated rooms were coming to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort in 2023 and shared that the new rooms would be themed to feature “fan-favorite characters from under the sea.” With that in mind, many Disney fans started speculating that the redesign might be themed after Disney’s The Little Mermaid or Pixar’s Finding Nemo. And, now we have the answer with a FIRST LOOK at the new rooms!

Recently, Disney Cast Members got a sneak peek at the new rooms and they shared the behind-the-scenes look on the Walt Disney World Cast and Community Facebook page! According to the post, the rooms will accommodate up to 5 guests and “feature special touches inspired by the timeless story of ‘The Little Mermaid.'”
From the photos, it looks like the new rooms will include one standard bed, a large pull-down bed that doubles as a couch during the day, and a smaller pull-down bed that doubles as a bench. The room also includes a dresser, coffee table, TV, mini-fridge, wood-like flooring, an overhead fan, and bathroom with a double vanity.

Here’s another look at the area with the large pull-down bed! It’s got handles that will help you get the bed up and down (much like other resort hotel rooms that have this type of bed in Disney World) and is decorated with a scene that is reminiscent of the beginning scenes of the movie.
You can also spot what looks like a connecting door on the left, so it looks like you may be able to request conjoined rooms if you’re traveling with a larger group.

We also got a closer look at the little coffee nook that’s tucked into the rooms! It includes a small coffee and tea station with cups and everything you’ll need for your morning caffeine fix, an ice bucket, and a trash can underneath. Plus, it’s decorated with some cute designs from The Little Mermaid!

These new rooms will be located in the Trinidad area of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Disney has not confirmed that they will replace the former Pirate-themed rooms, however, the Pirate rooms were located in the Trinidad area and are no longer available for booking on Disney’s website. This all suggests that they have likely been rethemed.
Now, these new rooms can’t be booked just yet, but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as they’re available! And, if you’re looking for another opportunity to stay in rooms themed to The Little Mermaid, consider checking out Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! This Value Resort has a section themed entirely after the film with larger-than-life icons from the movie on your walk to and from your room. They only sleep up to 4 and usually book up SUPER fast though, so keep that in mind when making your reservation.
